Shopping in San Jose

The City's shopping scene offers shopaholics of any age destination shopping malls with all the top name manufacturers, discount outlet malls, boutique shopping, and more.

Valley Fair Westfield Shoppingtown
A short 15 minute car ride is all that is between you and San Jose's largest mall, Valley Fair. This mega mall boasts 366 stores including retail giants Macy's and Nordstrom's. Featuring almost every brand name retailer, finding what you need will be a breeze. The mall also has over 20 dining options including Cheesecake Factory and California Pizza Kitchen. Valley Fair is a Wi-Fi Hotspot.

Santana Row
Right across the street from Valley Fair Westfield you will find Santana Row-a shopping experience with a European flair. This unique location is not only a shopping, dining, and entertainment destination but it is also a vibrant community of luxurious apartments and condominiums. Santana Row features 70 exciting shops, 5 pampering spas, a full-service hotel and 18 dining options ranging from casual outdoor cafes to sophisticated international cuisines.

Gilroy Premium Outlets
Gilroy is known as the "Garlic Capitol," but, it also has a discount mall featuring 145 stores. The Outlet Mall is about 40 minutes away just off Highway 101. Esprit, Guess, Big Dog, Polo, Ralph Lauren, Timberland, Capezio, Nike, Kenneth Cole, and Tommy Hilfiger are just a few in this mostly-clothing mall. A free trolley circles the mall throughout the day.

Great Mall of the Bay Area
Tireless bargain hunters and teenagers love this outlet mall in Milpitas. Most of the merchandise is aimed at families and children. The mall includes a 20 movie multiplex. In addition to shopping and entertainment there are full service restaurants like Dave & Buster's and a food court. This mall is a 30 minute ride from Downtown San Jose.

Specialty Boutiques
A mere 10 minutes from Downtown is a local neighborhood known as Willow Glen. Park the car and stroll down Lincoln Avenue while shopping for antiques, one of a kind home decor items, or unique upscale clothing. There are many neighborhood eateries along the way.

Westfield Shoppingtown Oakridge
The refurbished Oakridge Mall has more than 100 specialty stores and is only 15 minutes from downtown. Top names at San Jose's Oakridge Mall include Sears, Macy's, Linens 'n' Things, Montgomery Wards, Borders Books, and a 2-story Target. Oakridge Mall also has a great collection of cafes, and restaurants like the Cheesecake Factory, BJ's, Bucca di Beppo and P.F. Changs.

San Jose Market Center
Closest to downtown is the new San Jose Market Center. Located at Coleman and Taylor Street, the Center offers shoppers leading retail stores such as Target, Office Depot, Cost Plus, PetsMart, Michaels, and Marshall's. Opening in March 2006, the $80 million center includes a Starbuck's and Chili's and will boast up to 50 retailers when completed.

Antiques Shopping
A ten minute ride from downtown brings you to one of the area's best hunting grounds for antiques and collectibles - San Carlos Antique Row.

San Jose Flea Market
The San Jose Flea Market first opened in 1960 with just a few vendors and has since grown to host more than 2,500 sellers on 40 acres, with everything from handicrafts and souvenirs to jewelry and furniture. The flea market runs from sunrise to sunset every day apart from Mondays and Tuesdays and is one of the largest open air markets in California.

The Pavilion
Not far from the Convention Center, The Pavilion shops feature eateries such as Johnny Rockets 50's Diner, Waldenbooks, Chinese Gourmet Express, House of Siam, Starbucks Coffee, Tandoori Oven, Lollicup, and the Pita Pit as well as a Bally's Fitness Center and the Camera Cinemas.
