Founded in 1777, San Jose is the oldest civil settlement in California and site of the first State capital. With a population of 945,000, San Jose is the 3rd largest city in California, the 10th largest city in United States and Safest Big City in America (500,000+) for five consecutive years.
The Gateway to the Bays, San Jose is only 45 minutes south of San Francisco and 70 minutes northeast of Monterey and Santa Cruz. There are 300 sunny days per year with an average daily temperature of 50 degrees in January and 70 degrees in July.
